Garlic Jalapeno Hummus

Hummus is such a great condiment, that’s totally underrated. Aside from being a perfect dip for veggies and crackers, it makes a delicious sandwich or wrap spread, goes well in a quesadilla, and can even dress a salad!

What’s even better is that it’s SUPER easy and cheap to make at home. A jar of tahini goes a long way, and chickpeas are a vegetarian’s pantry staple. Spice up your next batch of hummus with garlic and jalapenos, and bring the kick to the party!

Garlic Jalapeno Hummus

Serves a crowd!

  • 2 cans chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered
  • 4 fresh jalapenos, seeded and chopped
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 C tahini
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides every minute or so, to help push the full chickpeas downward toward the blades.

Taste the hummus and add more lemon juice, tahini and/or olive oil as needed to reach desired flavor and consistency.

Transfer to serving bowl and chill. The longer this sits in the fridge (preferably overnight), the more flavorful it will be. Enjoy with fresh raw veggies, pretzels, pita triangles, or use it as a sandwich spread! This is a great party appetizer, or just a healthy snack to keep in the fridge.

      Thanks! Yeah, my mom got me this cute set for Christmas, so I couldn’t NOT use it 🙂 I’m always looking for new hummus flavors. Maybe a chipotle one is next for me.
